Mitsubishi releases electric hire car in Japan

The Mitsubishi group has announced that it will be offering electric vehicles (EV) across Japan in a bid to encourage motorists to adopt the environmentally friendly technology. The firm has declared that it will shortly begin rolling out the specially designed i-MiEV electric car at nationwide rental outlets over the coming weeks, with the first vehicle due for release at the beginning of next month.

Chrysler to Build A Battery-Powered Electric Car by 2012

Chrysler Group LLC said this week that it's going to roll out a battery-powered electric vehicle based on the Fiat 500 platform in 2012.Known as the Fiat 500EV, the new car will use no internal combustion engine, propelling itself exclusively on the power derived from a lithium-ion battery. Nissan Leaf Electric Car Comes to New York

Nissan had originally planned to bring its Leaf electric car concept to 22 American cities, but requests from Atlanta and Boston made it 24. “They asked and we couldn’t say no,” said a grinning Carlos Tavares, the chairman of Nissan Americas.
